At about 7.15am on 14 February 2019, MPA received a report that a Dominica-flagged supply vessel, OCEAN COOPER 2, had capsized and sunk in the westbound lane of the Traffic Separation Scheme, about 3 nautical miles from Pedra Branca (latitude 01°20.20’N and longitude 104°21.38’E). The incident happened within Singapore Territorial Waters in the Singapore Strait. Please refer to the attached map on the incident location.

All three Indonesian crew, earlier rescued by a nearby accompanying supply vessel, JOLLY RACHEL, are all safe. There was no oil pollution or injury reported.

MPA has issued navigational broadcasts asking ships to navigate with caution in the vicinity of the incident. MPA has deployed a craft to conduct a hydrographic survey of the wreck. Traffic in the Singapore Strait remains unaffected.

MPA is investigating the incident.
