Hamburg Port Anniversary 2020 cancelled

This year’s Hamburg Port Anniversary cannot take place due to the Corona virus and its unprecedented circumstances resulting following this, the district health authorities prohibited the public festival, the port said in a statement.

Due to the increased risk of the virus spreading at events such as the port anniversary, with thousands of people partaking, the cancellation serves the protection of the population.

This will help lower the virulence of the COVID-19 virus.

This delay is necessary to avoid an overburden of the health care system and with that provide health care to those infected and other cases of illness that also need to be attended during this pandemia.
