Seven seafarers from the crew of m/v Top Grace (IMO 9763875) have been arrested in South Africa.

They have been charged with attempted murder.

Two Tanzanian stowaways were found aboard two weeks ago, according to North Coast Courier. They were “thrown overboard”, and the crew provided them with a make-shift raft, life jackets and water.

A Durban court is hearing the case, 20 000 R (1 000 USD) bail was imposed on the crew members.

The trial is expected to continue on April 17. The ship was detained at Richards Bay.
